As wealth has increased and entrepreneurship has thrived, philanthropy has become more progressive and broader in scope. New generations of philanthropists are finding creative ways of giving, reflecting their personal values and ideals. More companies are also integrating their philanthropic objectives into their core business models and CSR has expanded to include support in various areas. The forum is designed to help the entrepreneur, the high net worth individual (HNWI), and the CEO to look at ways to build sustainable programs that can leverage not only finances, but to also engage employees, customers, communities and nonprofit charities.
This forum has been organised in collaboration with ammado, a global stakeholder engagement platform for companies and individuals. ammado provides companies with a sophisticated micro philanthropy platform to engage customers through cause related marketing campaigns, in-line with the company’s strategic pursuits. Through its state-of-the-art tools, companies can engage with their employees, customers, and non-profit partners to help bring about positive social change, positive bottom line impact and communities they serve.
The conference and gala dinner support I-India, a charity supporting street children in India. I-India is a charity dedicated to helping the street children of Jaipur, India. Established in 1993, it assists children with their immediate challenges, such as homelessness, malnutrition and illness, while also developing their attitude and skills so they can make a better future for themselves. The charity helps over 3000 children daily through its street schools, residential homes and vocational centres.

Terry Alan FARRIS (Creator and Moderator)
Mr Farris is the head of Global Strategy at ammado. He has over 20 years of experience in managing and advising high net worth individuals, corporations, and foundations on philanthropic initiatives. He has been consulting a wide range of charitable organisations on their global and regional strategies. Before joining ammado, Mr Farris was the Head of Philanthropy Services for Asia Pacific at UBS AG. He also founded and headed the Philanthropy Advisory Services for Fortis Bank. He spent 10 years managing and leading foundations at Hong Kong Adventist Hospital, University of Hawaii Foundation, and Pacific Union College. He is considered one of the leading experts in Asian Philanthropy and speaks at conferences and forums throughout the world and is often quoted as an Industry Expert on Philanthropy.
William D. Mummery
Mr Mummery has a varied International Business Career for 20 years as MD companies within a major UK PLC both in Africa and the Far East. His actively managed Television Broadcast Networks for African Governments to Electronics Manufacturing in China; He was a Director of Line Sports Books, floated on the London AIM market in 2000. In 2005 he was invited to assist the Isle of Man Government as their e-Gaming Ambassador responsible for the sector's inward investments. In 2008, as Executive Director of Celton Group, he launched their European Operations and secured sponsorship of West Ham United in the English Premiere League
Jessica Soon Neo TAN
Miss Tan is Managing Director for Microsoft Singapore currently. She is also leading Microsoft’s ongoing corporate citizenship efforts which includes Microsoft’s efforts to becoming a trusted industry partner who works with businesses, communities and governments to help advance social and economic well-being. In May 2006, Miss Tan was elected as Member of Parliament in Singapore for the East Coast Group Representation Constituency (GRC). She is Chairman for the East Coast Town Council. Jessica is also Chairman for the Finance and Trade & Industry Government Parliamentary Committee (GPC) as well as Member of the Manpower GPC.
Peter CONLON
Peter Conlon is CEO & Founder of ammado. Besides ammado, Mr Conlon has also started a number of other companies and serves as a Non Executive Director of a number of companies, including APAX Capital Partners Ireland Limited. He is also an active member of a number of non-profit boards, including the National Institute of Technology Management, Advisory Board of University College Dublin, The Dublin City University Educational Trust and the Irish Software Association’s Business Advisory Board.
Michael B. DENOMA
Mr Denoma is currently the Chairman of Chinatrust Commercial Bank. He most recently served as Group Executive Director and member of the Board of Directors of Standard Chartered PLC from 2000 to 2008. During his tenure, Mr. DeNoma was Standard Chartered’s Global Consumer Banking CEO. He is also the Director for the International Center for Missing & Exploited Children and serves on the Board for the Singapore Management University.

Edwin GO
Currently serving as a Trustee for Give2Asia, Edwin had an accomplished career in the banking sector. For nine years Edwin served as Director and Senior Vice President with the Bank of the Orient, specializing in commercial loans to business, international trade finance and commercial real estate lending. Prior to that he also worked at Chemical Bank where he was involved in many facets including international project finance and country lending.
In addition to his duties as Trustee at Give2Asia, Edwin also serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Association of American Banks and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chinatown Youth Center in San Francisco. He is also on the Board of the Asian Business League, the Asian Pacific American Community Fund, the Hong Kong Association of Northern California and the Seton Health Services Foundation.
Steve Russell
Currently President of e-Global Logistics Network, a company offering global solutions for delivering sustainable revenue growth powered by on demand cloud-computing business services, Steve has also previously worked as CEO of salesforce.com Asia-Pacific. Salesforce.com is the world’s leading SaaS (Software as a Service) and PaaS (Platform as a Service) company. As CEO of Salesforce.com Asia Pacific, Steve led the company’s Foundation activities and brought a new focus on CSR to the company’s mission. In addition to his current position at e-Global Logistics Network, Steve is also a consultant for Advanced Water Technologies, Inc, working to provide solutions for global water technology.
Steve’s personal CSR and philanthropic emphasis is on the Special Olympics, including the World Games in Shanghai, October 2007. He supports individual athletes and fund raising activities in Singapore sports as well.
Victor YUAN
Currently holds the position of Chairman of Horizon Research Consultancy Group. He has an 18 year career in professional marketing and sociology research, including publishing research reports, papers, books, and translations on subjects of Law, Economics, Sociology, Political Science and Culture. As a consultant for several major media outlets and global corporations, Victor has developed and expertise in the areas of organizational management, high-level negotiation, marketing research, brand consulting, policy analysis methodology and social community research. In addition to his work as Chairman of Horizon Research Consultancy Group, Victor also serves as President of the Beijing Consulting Association, Vice President of the China Marketing Research Association, ESOMAR representative and Chairman of China area, representative of the Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCF) in China and Vice President of the Harvard Club Beijing.
Victor is also very active with anti-AIDS projects in Southwest China including sex-worker intervention and adherence to AIDS patients. He consults in: field work strategy of coordination work for NGO’s in the Sichuan earthquake area; university students social entrepreneurship; and university students internship union in China.
Niranjan KHATRI
Currently General Manager at Welcomenviron Initiatives of the ITC Welcomgroup, Niranja has worked on such prestigious projects such as pioneering the concept of eco designing at Welcomegroup Bay Island, consequently submitting a paper to ILO/Cornell University on eco-designing. He has developed an eco rating for the Delhi government which has been distributed to 1200 schools, subsequently translated into Marathi and further distributed to 6000 schools. Niranja is also a faculty member of the Railway Staff College, Baroda. He has conducted sessions on eco-design for many of the world’s top public and private sector companies. Prior to his work at ITC Welcomgroup, Niranja has extensive background in the field of hotel management.
Niranja’s passion for social responsibility has led him to initiate several CSR activities at ITC Welcomgroup including vocational training of orphans, employment of people with disabilities and pioneering of domestic help training programs. In addition to his workplace, Nirnaja also is a member of Arunim, an arm of the ministry of social justice in India’s government and advises on the rehabilitation of people with multiple disabilities. He is also a member of the Management Development Institute’s CSR group and a member of the CII confederation of Indian CSR/disability committee.
Stewart STEMPLE
Currently serving as Managing Director at Ethos International, a company that became part of the Swire Group in 2006, Stewart also serves as Head of CSR for Swire Beverages. Together with Ethos, Stewart advises the Swire Group, Swire companies and external client companies in CSR and community development initiatives. Ethos was founded by Stewart in 2003 as Stemple Consulting Ltd. Prior to founding Stewart Consulting Ltd./Ethos, Stewart has had a wide variety of experience in various industries and corporations including over ten years in the Coca-Cola System. He has served several large global organizations as the Head of Learning and Development, the Head of Human Resources, and the Head of Leadership and Organization Development.
His passion is helping people grow in all areas of their life, particularly working with companies to create a culture where people can perform at their very best. As Head of CSR for Swire Beverages, Stewart is an integral part of making an impact on China in the areas of environment, child development and health education.
Jonathon PRICE
Currently Managing Director Asia-Pacific for the Body Shop, Jonathon is committed to driving the company and the brand to greater excellence in customer service and retail operations, with a focus on further developing the Body Shop social conscience. The Body Shop Asia Pacific has won many awards and accolades across the region for CSR and contributions to the community. Prior to joining the Body Shop, Jonathon was the Asia Pacific President of Targus before being appointed the Group Chief Operating Officer for Targus, Inc. Jonathon also worked for 15 years with Marks and Spencer, rising to senior executive level as well as serving as Vice President of Gateway Computers Asia Pacific Consumer Division.
Jonathon volunteers for charity in the Singapore community and actively takes part in social and environmental campaigns on a regular basis. For example, last year Jonathon spent three days in Banda Aceh volunteering at a child friendly space run by the charity Children on the Edge.
Ian Chen LEO
Currently serving as Executive Director of the Centre for Asian Philanthropy (CAP), CAP is a first of its kind philanthropic management service to encourage and link charitable donations to organizations in need within the Asian region. Ian has spent more than a decade in the charity sector and is currently involved in advocacy work championing disability issues in the Asian region. He served as President of the Disabled People’s Association for four years before become and active Board members. He also spent over five years managing programs at AWWA.
A lifelong promoter of philanthropy and charitable work, Ian was Founder and President of the Happy Friend Club which organizes outdoor activities for physically challenged children.
Nadya HUTALAGUNG
Currently an eco-activist, jewelry designer and celebrity personality, Nadya is champion for green causes. In addition to green initiatives, Nadya also champions the preservation of endangered species, women’s issues, and the Tsunami Relief Fund. As one of the pioneering VJ’s for MTV, one of Singapore’s most stylish and beautiful women, and a household name in Asia, Nadya has used her celebrity to become one of the most sought after, multi-faceted, accomplished women in Asia. In addition to many other accolades, she was voted one of Asia’s Leading Trendmakers by Asiaweek magazine and was also voted Showtime Personality of the Year by Singpore’s The New Paper.
In addition to her extensive professional work, Nadya is also the ambassador for the World Wildlife Funds Earth Hour in Singapore, and has recently launched her own sustainable jewelry line called OSEL.
Alex Orange
Currently Director of Government Affairs for South East Asia and the Pacific at Qualcomm Incorporated, Alex directs Qualcomm’s relationships with governments and regulatory agencies in the South East Asian and Pacific region. Alex has 11 years of experience working with the Ministry of Economic Development New Zealand, where, as the Senior Planning Engineer, he developed national spectrum of management policies, plans, allocations methodologies and licensing mechanisms. Alex also chaired the New Zealand Radio Sector and participated and led in New Zealand government delegations to numerous bi-lateral, multi-lateral and UN treaty level negotiations.
Alex’s responsibilities also include support for Qualcomm’s CSR initiative, “Wireless Reach,” which was created to demonstrate how wireless technology can improve people’s lives, using 3G technology to help in the areas of education, the environment, health care, entrepreneurship and public safety.
Peter Quarmby
Currently serving as Executive Director and CEO of Community Sector Innovation, Community Sector Banking’s Business Development Unit, Community Sector Banking is Australia’s first and only specialist banking service exclusively for not-for-profit organizations, their staff and community sector enterprises. Peter has worked in the community sector for over 20 years, serving as CEO for two-community based service providers: Enterprise and Training of Coffs Harbour and Access to Community Group in Wollongong. Peter was also instrumental in the foundation of both Community Sector Banking and Australia’s First Regional Superannuation Fund.
Peter’s passion for work with nonprofit extends beyond his professional career and he serves on a number of Boards including Jobs Australia, The Jobs Australia Foundation, The Disability Trust and Access Community group as well as Commact Australia.
Alvin Lee
Currently Executive Director of International Relations and Public Policy for Time Warner Asia-Pacific, Alvin works to build and maintain a wide-spectrum of contacts to advance business and policy objectives and to develop regional strategies to position the company for growth. Prior to working at Time Warner, Alvin handled Asia marketing for FORTUNE conferences, was General Manager of Communications for the Better Hong Kong Foundation and also served as Executive Director of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
As a part of his extensive work at Time Warner, Alvin champions such community-driven initiatives as Education & 21st Century Literacy and Closing the Digital Divide.
